SnapInsight is about to become even more useful.

SnapInsight is about to become even more useful.

Based on feedback from clients and users, we are introducing two new optioal features that will help people access broader knowledge and do more with the information they receive.

Until now, SnapInsight has focused on helping users ask questions and receive answers grounded in an organisation’s private knowledge base. That trusted knowledge remains central to the experience. The new features extend what users can do from there.

Search beyond your private knowledge base

When web search is enabled, SnapInsight can use publicly available web sources to enrich its answers.

This gives users access to a much broader body of knowledge when the information they need is not contained within the organisation’s private knowledge base. It can support more complete answers and provide current external context where appropriate.

Web search can also reveal potential gaps in the private knowledge base. If users regularly need information from external sources to answer particular questions, the organisation can use those insights to identify knowledge that may be worth adding or maintaining internally.

The result is a more flexible experience: users can continue drawing on trusted organisational knowledge while accessing broader information when the question requires it.

Upload a file and work with it in the conversation

File upload will allow users to add a document during a conversation and ask SnapInsight to work with its contents.

A user might ask SnapInsight to:

  • Summarise a lengthy document

  • Explain complex information in clearer language

  • Review or analyse its contents

  • Identify important points or areas requiring attention

  • Refer to images or drawings within the document

  • Turn the information into a practical next step

Rather than moving between separate tools, users can work with the document within the same SnapInsight conversation.

From receiving an answer to acting on it

Previously, a user could ask a question and receive an answer. With these new capabilities, they can go further and act on the information available to them. For example, after finding the relevant information, a user could ask SnapInsight to:

  • Draft an email

  • Create a concise summary

  • Review a document

  • Organise rough notes

  • Turn source material into something ready to share

This moves SnapInsight beyond information retrieval alone. It becomes a more capable working environment where users can find, understand and apply knowledge in one place.

These features represent an important step in the continued development of SnapInsight.

By combining trusted private knowledge, broader public information and user-provided documents, SnapInsight can support richer answers and help users turn those answers into useful work all within the same experience.
